Roman Hartung – author
I was never made to fit into your idea of normal. At some point, I stopped apologising for it.Roman Hartung

With “Lieber auffallen als verschwinden”, Roman began the literary processing of his own story. With SPLITTERKIND, it becomes an ongoing book series that tells individual stations, people and experiences in greater detail.

The aim is not to make the past artificially more dramatic. The books connect personal memories with existing files, documents and conversations.

WHAT REMAINS

For people
who want to understand.

This website offers an insight into my books, my story and what I want to tell through them.

It is for those who have walked similar paths. And for everyone willing to look beyond a child's behaviour.

THE BOOKS

Stories
that remain.

Two books. One ongoing story about memory, origin and what no file can fully show.

THANK YOU

Thank you to the people who stayed.

Along the way, there were people who accompanied me, supported me or shaped me.

Some were there only for a short time. Others are still an important part of my life today. Others left traces, even though our paths separated long ago.

Thank you to my family, my children, my friends and companions. Thank you to everyone who believed in me, and especially to those who saw not only my behaviour, but the person behind it.

This page is also for everyone to whom I owe something.
